Smashingly Events planned a fun reception for Amanda and Adam’s friends in Washington, DC at a really cool industrial food incubator called the Mess Hall, DC. The event was made personal for the couple, as the event space was divided into corridors with different food stations representing travel and food with meaning for the couple. For example, Adam is from Maryland, so crab cakes were represented. Amanda is from North Carolina, so Joe at Sloppy Mama’s Barbeque prepared an entire hog outside for pork sliders. Adam studied in Italy, so Al Volo Italian, DC came in to cater some fabulous pasta for the crowd. The Puddin Food Truck served up some great Cajun food representing New Orleans – a favorite travel destination for the couple. You get the picture. We re-imagined the loading dock at the Mess Hall as a space for dancing with hanging lights and a large “I DO” in lights. DJ Breez was rocked the house on the dance floor. This was a really fun event. The decor was modern fall – a spin on it being late October – with white pumpkins and green apples among the beautiful florals created by Twinbrook Floral Design. Thank you Adam and Amanda for allowing Smashingly Events to plan such a fun event!
