The Heart of Event Planning

I have often been asked, “Why Event Planning?” There is a perception out there that planning “parties” is a frivolous pursuit. I approach event planning in another way. We have been fortunate to share the most important moments, milestones and days in people’s lives.

It is an honor and a privilege to make these moments special, personal and monumental. Whether it be a 50th Wedding Anniversary and playing their first song, or an 80th Birthday Party with a banner chalked full of years of memories with families and friends or incorporating favorite, private moments for couples into their wedding day. To see people turn the corner on their surprise parties and cry with happiness – that is why we do this.

With corporate events, which is our specialty, every event has a purpose and a reason for being. Whether it be thanking your top clients for supporting your business, team building, networking or a conference to communicate industry trends – every event is special and filled with a myriad of human interaction and community and what America is built on.

We have also been fortunate enough to work on non-profit events. The most special being, Toys for Our Troops, an event held annually to support our nation’s military and their families with an early Christmas event. This year, it was at Spirit Square in Charlotte on December 10. We worked with Giving Tree Charities and the North Carolina USO to put together a beautiful day for over 400 military families. We had presents for the kids, Santa visits, face painting, visits from the Charlotte professional sports mascots, cookie decorating, carnival games and lunch. It was a privilege to be part of an event that honors our military that sacrifice their lives for us every day.

At Smashingly Events, every event is planned with heart. If you don’t have heart and passion, then you are just planning “parties.” At Smashingly Events, I incorporate a little piece of my heart and soul into every event. When you hire this team, we go all in. Heart and Soul. FK
